Assam bypoll results: BJP's Nihar Ranjan Das clinches victory in Dholai, supporters celebrate

BJP candidate Nihar Ranjan Das emerged victorious in the Dholai constituency, sparking celebrations among party workers, including those who arrived from Delhi to join the festivities at the ISBT office.  

Speaking to India Today NE, Lakhipur MLA Kaushik Rai extended his gratitude to the people of Dholai, as well as the party’s workers, leaders, and ministers, for their unwavering support throughout the campaign.  

“This victory was anticipated, but I remain deeply thankful to everyone who contributed to this success. While the winning margin is slightly lower than expected, today is a day of celebration. We will take time afterward to analyze the reasons behind the reduced margin,” Rai remarked.  

The BJP's triumph in Dholai reinforces the party's influence in the region, even as it sets the stage for introspection and strategy refinement for future electoral challenges.
