Assam: Cachar district administration set up temporary camps for displaced people of Manipur entering state

The Cachar district administration has set up temporary camps to provide shelter for the people displaced in Manipur during ongoing clashes and who have entered the state of Assam after crossing the Jiri river.

8 new camps have been established so far to accommodate as the numbers of people have increased to 2000

As per Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma's direction, Cachar district administration has taken care of all amenities, including providing food, medicines for the people sheltering in the camps.

Cachar Police led by SP Numal Mahatta along with Assam Rifles and CRPF are conducting regular patrolling, area domination along with the border so that no untoward incident happens.

The district police along with security personnel are working round the clock to ensure safety and maintain security of the displaced people 

The displaced people who took shelters in Assam thanked CM Himanta Biswa Sharma and Assam Government and Cachar district administration for all the support and help provided to them.
