Assam: Chaos erupts as locals set vehicle ablaze in Samaguri suspected of goat theft

Tensions flared in Samaguri as locals set a vehicle on fire, suspecting it to be involved in a goat theft. The incident began when a large crowd pursued the vehicle, believed to have fled after stealing a goat from Bardal, Samaguri.

As the mob closed in, two of the suspected thieves managed to escape, while the remaining two were captured by the crowd. The apprehended individuals were severely beaten before being handed over to the police. Due to the extent of their injuries, the suspects were later admitted to the hospital in critical condition.

Authorities have launched an investigation into the incident to uncover the details surrounding the suspected theft and subsequent mob action.
