Assam: Chirang Police arrest two in major drug and counterfeit currency bust

The police, in collaboration with the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), carried out a raid at No. 2 Goraimari under Panbari police station in Bijni, Chirang district, leading to the arrest of two notorious traffickers on Sunday.

The arrested individuals, identified as Nabir Hussain (32) and Mizanur Rahman (24), were found to be siblings. The raid uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs and counterfeit currency from their residence. Among the seized items were three boxes of soap filled with drugs, 119 plastic containers packed with narcotics, a Bolero car bearing registration number AS 26G 1366, Rs 33,000 in cash, and Rs 43,000 in fake currency notes.
