Assam CM accuses Congress of unfulfilled promises, highlights BJP's commitment to women empowerment

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, while addressing a public rally in Palwal, Haryana on October 4, accused the Congress party for failing to honor its commitments, specifically targeting its leadership over unfulfilled promises to women.

CM Sarma accused Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi of misleading the public during the Himachal Pradesh elections by pledging to transfer Rs 1500 into the bank accounts of women—a promise that, according to him, remains unkept.

“Congress makes numerous promises to the people of Haryana, but their track record in other states tells a different story," Sarma remarked. "Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi assured the women of Himachal Pradesh that they would receive Rs 1500 after the Congress came to power. That promise is still waiting to be fulfilled.”

In contrast, Sarma highlighted the achievements of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) governments in states like Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, and Assam. He emphasized that the BJP has successfully implemented programs aimed at empowering women through direct financial support.

“The BJP, unlike Congress, has delivered on its commitments,” Sarma said, underscoring the party's efforts to ensure that financial aid reaches women directly, boosting their economic independence.
