Assam: Congress leader Bhupen Borah will soon join BJP, claims MLA Phanidhar Talukdar

Assam BJP MLA Phanidhar Talukdar while commenting on the present status of Congress said that soon many leaders from the party including Bhupen Borah will be heading towards BJP.

Making a significant statement that State Congress president Bhupen Borah will too leave the party, Phanidhar Talukdar added, "Whom will the Congress field in the upcoming elections? Whoever they plan to give ticket and field a candidate, that person escapes from the party and later joins BJP of AGP. There is a big problem. Earlier, lot of money was involved to obtain a party ticket from Congress. But now, even after giving money they don't get a ticket to fight elections. Now when they plan to field a particular candidate from a particular constituency, the candidates quits the party. Now the party is unable to trace the leaders who fled Congress".

Alleging that the status of Congress has weakened to a very poor category where even Bhupen Borah has failed to stop the cracks developed within the party, MLA Phanidhar Talukdar claimed that there will be a fight between the BJP and AIUDF in the upcoming elections as there is no strong Opposition party left other than AIUDF. 

Speaking to the reports during a programme in Bajali, MLA Talukdar further quipped that BJP has no place for Bhupen Borah even if he wishes to join the party.
