Assam Congress minority leaders are spineless and like cow dung: Sherman Ali

Former Congress leader Sherman Ali hits back at all the minority leaders of the said party and claimed them to be nothing but cow dung.

Pointing out former Congress cabinet leaders by its name, Sherman Ali said that Rakibul Hussain, Nazrul Islam and Sukur Ali Ahmed are all cow-dung leaders.

"Because of all these cow-dung minority leaders Congress did not do justice", said Sherman Ali.

Further, justifying the cow dung remark, Sherman Ali said that in spite of ruling this state for so many years these leaders could not demand land patta for people in the sandbar areas of the state and keep their heads high.

Slamming one of the said one of the former Congress leaders, Sherman Ali said that during the 15 years of rule, the said leader never sat on his chair or even in the Cabinet meeting.

"The Chief Minister (former Congress leader Himanta Biswa Sarma) said see Sherman you are running from pillar to post for the development of our constituency but there was one minister in Congress for 15 years who never sat on his chair for one day also," said Sherman Ali.

Earlier, Sherman Ali's name came to the light when he openly supported the Miya museum and stated that the arrested members of the Miya Parishad should be like Africa's Nelson Mandela.

The former Congressman said that the Miya Parishad leaders who are arrested should maintain patience like the anti-apartheid leader of Africa Nelson Mandela did by remaining incarcerated in jail for 27 years while carrying out his fight against the ‘white supremacy’ from the ramparts of the prison cell.

Speaking to India Today NE, Sherman Ali said, “Although ideology wise I have many differences with the Miya Parishad..no matter by whatever means, the arrested members of the Miya Parishad tried to set up the Miya museum and later got arrested. I believe this incident will be etched in golden words in Miya's history for recognition of the Miya community. The arrested persons are being treated badly,” said Ali.

Sherman Ali also claimed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has hidden agenda behind the seizure of the Miya museum and the arrest of the Parishad's leaders.
