All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) chief and perfume baron Badruddin Ajmal on October 20 said that the party will not forge alliance with Congress or BJP for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024.
Stating that the party is currently planning to fight alone for the elections and showed confidence that it will win three seats in the election, Ajmal said that Congress will not win a single seat as it is no longer a factor for any party across Assam. However, Ajmal did mention about a new development wherein the party might think of making 'some adjusments' in the near future as there are several other parties in the state.
"Till now we are planning to fight alone for the Lok Sabha elections. A new development is in the fray. We might have to make adjustment with someone in the coming days. We will in no way make any alliance with Congress. Even if they wish to, we will not go ahead with the alliance. There are several other parties. A development is taling place. Will inform you soon. Even no alliance with BJP. Everything is under wraps", said Ajmal while speaking to the reporters.
"Alliance with Congress is not possible Alliance not only with Congress but also WITH BJP is impossible. Congress is no longer a factor for any party across Assam.
Congress will not win a single seat in Lok Sabha elections This time it will be a big deal if it gets even a single seat", added Ajmal further.
"The AIUDF will get three confirmed seats in the 24th election. Apart from this, talks are going on with a particular party for the other two seats", said Badruddin Ajmal but did not name the party.
