The ambitious water supply scheme, launched with significant investment by the Prime Minister, is marred by corruption, as contractor TY Traders has left the project incomplete and substandard. The initiative, intended to enhance water access in Gohpur's 1 No. Nahoroni, was budgeted at approximately 94 lakh rupees. However, the project remains unfinished, surrounded by overgrown vegetation and filth due to improper waste disposal.
The contractor, TY Traders, a construction firm based in Arunachal Pradesh has not only failed to deliver on this project but has also abandoned eight other water supply schemes in the area. Originally scheduled for completion this month, the scheme’s failure has left local residents without reliable access to clean drinking water.
Residents are now calling on the government and relevant authorities to intervene. They are demanding action to complete the water supply infrastructure and ensure that the community receives the essential services promised.
