Assam: Cow thief dies in accident during cattle theft attempt

In a dramatic turn of events, a cow thief lost his life while attempting to steal cattle in Ambuk Hakojuli village of Dhupdhara. The incident unfolded late at night when four individuals invaded Laxman Rabha's cow shed with intentions to steal cows.

 

As the thieves attempted to lift a bull cow into a Scorpio vehicle for a quick getaway, they were spotted by the public. In a bid to escape, the thieves hastily drove off in the Scorpio, but their escape plan was foiled when they lost control of the vehicle, resulting in a crash.

 

Upon hearing the commotion, locals promptly informed the Dhupdhara police, who swiftly arrived at the scene. The police found the seriously injured thieves, along with the damaged Scorpio, and promptly transported them to the hospital for medical attention.

 

Tragically, one of the thieves succumbed to his injuries while receiving treatment at the hospital. The deceased thief has been identified as Mohar Uddin Ali. The other two thieves rescued from the scene have been named as Ainul Haque and Shafiqul Ali, both hailing from Boko Tamoldi and Boko Jambari respectively. Additionally, the fourth thief managed to flee the scene following the accident.

 

The Scorpio vehicle used by the thieves for their attempted cattle theft has been identified with registration number AS 01 AZ - 4177.
