Assam: CUET Exam candidates delayed due to traffic jam in Karimganj

A massive traffic jam in the Badarpur Ghat area of Karimganj district has caused significant delays for students attempting to reach their Common University Entrance Test (CUET) examination centre in Silchar today.

The exam, scheduled to begin at 1 PM, is now mired in uncertainty as numerous students remain stuck in traffic snarls, unable to reach the centre on time.

The unexpected congestion has created a state of anxiety and distress among students and their parents.

Many students from Karimganj and Hailakandi districts are affected, as they were expected to travel to Silchar for the examination.

With the severe traffic disruption, their timely arrival has become nearly impossible, raising concerns about their academic future.

The decision to hold the examination in Silchar has already been a contentious issue.

Students and parents from Karimganj and Hailakandi districts had previously voiced strong objections, citing the logistical challenges and potential risks involved in traveling such distances.

The current traffic chaos has intensified these concerns, leading to a stronger backlash against the choice of the exam centre.
