Assam: Drunk youth's reckless driving left two police personnel injured in Guwahati city

After a speeding Honda City vehicle was struck by an on-duty police officer in Downtown Guwahati and managed to flee the scene, a large influx of inebriated teenagers began to congregate in the streets of the city at night.

Sources claim that on Saturday night, the Traffic Police searched the area around Janata Bhawan routinely. Bhargava Deka, a drunken teenager driving a Honda City with the licence plate AS-01-AK-9793, is currently being held by Dispur police.

Two members of the Dispur traffic police were hurt in the crash. After the cops got involved, the young man got away after drinking heavily.

The incident serves as a reminder of the risks associated with drunk driving and subsequent collisions.

The collision resulted in injuries to two Dispur traffic police personnel. The youth, who fled after the police intervention, had indulged in heavy drinking.

The incident highlights the potential dangers of drunk driving and ensuing collisions. It needs mention here that earlier on August 18, a group of intoxicated youth allegedly tried to sexually assault a woman in Guwahati.
