The idol immersion which took place directly across from the immersion ghat on Kalibari Road in Karimganj, Assam, highlights the shared cultural and religious practices between the neighboring regions despite the international boundary.

The immersion, a concluding ritual of the Durga Puja festivities, was witnessed by locals and devotees gathered at the Karimganj ghat, who watched as the idol was gracefully submerged in the river at Jakiganj.
