A massive fire broke out at Border Branch in Dhubri Sadar Police Station campus, partially damaging documents and the office on September 26.
Recently, all the files of Dhubri Border Branch were shifted to a room in Dhubri Sadar Police Station campus for the reconstruction of the new office building in Dhubri SP Office campus..
At around 12 midnight, a police personnel noticed that an electric switchboard inside one of the room was sparking at a high frequency. The police personnel immediately informed the fire fighters, who reached the scene effecting no time and managed to control the fire but many documents turned into ashes or damaged.
A district's Border Branch holds a large number of significant and highly sensitive papers. It is suspected that the fire outreach caused the destruction of numerous significant border-related records of Indo-Bangladesh border.
