In an effort to curb the production and sale of illicit liquor, the Excise Department conducted a high-intensity operation across Rangapara, dismantling 10 illegal liquor brewing units and confiscating related materials.
The crackdown began in Amaribari’s Bherbhori village, targeting several illegal brewing facilities, and later extended to Rangapara Railway Hospital vicinity and Phulbari’s Upper Kachari village.
The operation, led by Excise Inspector Madhurya Talukdar and Sub-Inspector Jayanta Choudhury, addressed a long-standing issue blamed for deteriorating the region's social and educational atmosphere. Despite previous actions, illicit brewing activities have persisted, raising concerns over their negative influence, particularly on the youth.
