Assam: Explosion at Bokakhat factory claims employee's life, supervisor absconding

A tragic incident occurred at "Escoplotech India" in Bokakhat, where a massive explosion took place during work on a tank.

The blast resulted in the immediate death of Lalit Gandhia, an employee whose home was in Lakhoujan, Bokakhat.

Speaking to media persons, one of the employees at the factory said, "I assume this incident took place due to carelessness. As per reports, one person went up to do welding, but later denied saying that there is petrol so I won't do. Then the victim went up and then the incident happened. The supervisor should have stopped the person from going up saying that this is a petrol vehicle, he could have simply washed it. Now the supervisor is also absconding. I used to work here earlier, but don't work anymore"

The site is owned by N K Hazarika and operated by a factory known as Explore India, which specializes in repairing gas tankers and manufacturing tail tankers. The explosion has raised concerns about safety measures at the facility.

It is a developing story. More details awaited.
