Tragedy struck Bhabanipur Nakusi field in Bajali district on December 13 when a farmer, identified as Rabindra Sarkar, lost his life after being electrocuted by an 11,000-volt power line passing through the field.
The incident has raised serious concerns about the safety of the local residents and the inaction of the authorities.
Rabindra Sarkar, a 45-year-old farmer, was working in his field when the overhead power line, carrying high-voltage electricity, struck him.
According to locals, this power line has been a persistent issue in the area, with frequent complaints about its precarious position.
Despite several requests to the electricity department to address the danger, the power line has remained unfixed, with no action taken to rectify the situation.
