Assam: FIR filed against AIUDF MLA Aminul Islam and brothers over alleged hooliganism

A shocking incident unfolded in Dhing as All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) MLA Aminul Islam and his four brothers find themselves in hot water after being accused of engaging in hooliganism. The accusations came to light when a youth named Munimul Islam attempted to expose corruption involving the MLA and his brothers, resulting in a physical assault and property damage.

The series of events began when Munimul Islam took to social media, shedding light on alleged corrupt practices orchestrated by MLA Aminul Islam and his brothers. According to Munimul, they were reportedly involved in embezzling funds from government schemes, impacting the lives of ordinary citizens and beneficiaries.

In a disturbing turn of events, on the night of May 19, around 11 pm, MLA Aminul Islam and his brothers allegedly stormed Munimul's residence, targeting his father and issuing threats. The assailants demanded the immediate removal of the Facebook posts exposing their alleged wrongdoings before May 20. They resorted to intimidation, even threatening Munimul's life if he was found alone at any time. These menacing warnings were reportedly directed at Munimul's father.

Unfazed by the intimidation, Munimul reposted the allegations on his Facebook page, reaffirming the veracity of his claims. Furthermore, he extended an open invitation for anyone with objections to present counter-arguments on the same platform. Realizing the seriousness of the situation, Munimul wasted no time in filing a First Information Report (FIR) against the MLA and his brothers around 1 am.
Munimul Islam explicitly mentioned that if there were any objections to his posts, he would welcome a defamation lawsuit. However, no such legal action was initiated, leading to speculation that the accused may be aware of their involvement in corrupt activities, thereby avoiding further scrutiny.

Munimul Islam has now called upon the police to take immediate action against MLA Aminul Islam and thoroughly investigate the government scheme where the alleged corruption took place. He urges the police to thoroughly examine his claims and evidence, assuring them that if proven wrong, he is ready to accept any punishment. Conversely, he emphasizes that if the MLA and his brothers are found guilty, they should face appropriate consequences for their actions. Munimul claims to possess concrete evidence supporting his allegations of corruption, suggesting the involvement of all five brothers in the illicit activities.
