Assam: Fire guts scrap shop, paddy godown in Bongaigaon’s Goraimari

A massive fire broke out late on December 13, around 9:30 pm, in Bongaigaon district's Goraimari area, causing significant property damage. The blaze engulfed a scrap shop owned by a man named, Kesmat Ali and a paddy godown that belonged to Abdul Karim. 

 

Fire tenders swiftly reached the spot and managed to extinguish the flames, preventing further damage. 

 

Officials suspect an electrical short circuit to be the cause of the incident. No casualties were reported, they confirmed. 

 

The situation is now under control, the authorities said.
