Assam: Fire in Kalinagar market in Hailakandi destroys property worth Rs 10 lakh

A massive fire broke out at Kalinagar market in Hailakandi district, Assam on August 16. 

Four business establishments were completely gutted. Locals speculate that a short circuit may have triggered the fire. 

The fire brigade rushed to the spot and doused the flames. Locals estimate a loss of around Rs 10 lakh.

Earlier today, a residential fire in Samaguri's Barmabil area left one family reeling from significant property damage.

The blaze, which erupted at Shahidul Islam's home, is believed to have originated from a cooking gas cylinder, according to eyewitness reports.

Local fire services responded promptly to the emergency, working alongside community members to bring the flames under control.

Despite their efforts, the fire caused extensive destruction, with initial estimates suggesting losses exceeding Rs 2 lakh in goods and furniture.
