Assam: Forest staff's alleged hooliganism in Bongaigaon, breaks leg of one person

A forest staff allegedly attacked one worker in Nakkati Hills of Bongaigaon district, unleashing hooliganism on the workers. The forester broke the leg of one worker identified as Upen Nath.

As per sources, the worker Upen Nath has been hospitalised with a broken leg. 

According to the details of the incident many tourists had gone to Nakkati hills in Bongaigaon on December 31. The Bongaigaon district administration and the forest department had issued instructions from the tourists to disembark from the hills. The DFO as well as forest officials reached Nakkati hills. 

After the tourists left, Upen Nath, a worker engaged in the Chang ghars was beaten up in front of the DFO in Bongaigaon district.

Upen Nath is currently lying on the bed at Bongaigaon Civil Hospital with a broken leg. Upen has been referred to Barpeta Medical College for better treatment.
