In a recent development, a golden langur was rescued by the forest department in the Kakaijana area of Assam's Bongaigaon district.
The animal, found sick, was discovered in Ujan Ravapara village, which is located near the Kakaijana Reserve Forest—home to the rare golden monkeys.
Forest officials have announced that the injured golden langur will be transported to Charikhola in Kokrajhar district for necessary medical treatment.
The golden langur, known for its distinctive golden fur, is a species that requires immediate and specialized care when ill. The rescue highlights the challenges faced in preserving Assam’s unique wildlife and the dedication of local authorities in addressing these issues.
