Assam government to start CM Fellowship program for MBA graduates

In a significant move to integrate academic expertise with governance, the Assam government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, has announced the initiation of a Fellowship Program specifically designed for MBA graduates.

This innovative program aims to provide selected MBA graduates with a unique opportunity to work closely with the Government of Assam, particularly in rural areas, where their skills and knowledge can contribute to the development and implementation of various government initiatives.

The Chief Minister's Young Professional Programme, a collaboration between IIM Bangalore and the Assam government, is set to enhance public policy and management by awarding participants with a Certificate in Public Policy and Management upon successful completion of the two-year program.

This initiative reflects the government's commitment to fostering talent and providing practical experience to young professionals.

Moreover, the Assam government has been proactive in supporting students through various scholarships and financial assistance schemes.

The Assam Abhinandan Education Loan Subsidy Scheme offers a one-time grant of INR 50,000 to help students pay off existing education loans, alleviating the financial burden on those pursuing higher education.

Additionally, the "Assam Bikash Yojana Scheme" provides Pre-Matric and Post-Matric Scholarships to meritorious BPL students, further emphasizing the state's dedication to nurturing its youth.

Students seeking scholarships in Assam can apply online through the National Scholarship Portal (NSP) or the Means cum Merit Scholarship Portal of the Department of Higher Education, Assam. These platforms streamline the application process, making it accessible and efficient for eligible candidates.

The Directorate of Tea Tribes and Adivasi Welfare, Government of Assam, also offers Financial Assistance for Higher Studies, targeting students from the Tea Tribes community pursuing technical or higher education. The scheme ensures that economically weaker sections receive support for courses ranging from MBBS to MBA, with varying financial assistance based on the level and field of study.

As the current date is December 9th, 2023, these programs and initiatives are likely already in effect or in advanced stages of implementation, demonstrating the Assam government's resolve to invest in the future of its youth and the overall progress of the state.
