Assam: Head-on-collision between two vehicles on NH-315 leaves five Injured in Margherita

In a tragic road accident on National Highway 315, five individuals sustained serious injuries following a head-on collision between two vehicles near Ledo Tirap Colliery under Ledo police station in the Margherita sub-division of Tinsukia district. 

The incident occurred earlier today, involving a Suzuki Wagonr (registration AS23AF6672) traveling from Jagun to Margherita and a Mahindra XUV (registration AR20 6715) heading from Ledo towards Colliery. 

The impact of the collision was devastating, with eyewitnesses reporting that the Mahindra XUV's driver, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, had swerved into the opposite lane, leading to the crash. Among the injured was Prabhat Gogoi, also known as Papu, the son of Prafulla Gogoi, a resident of Margherita's Block Teenali Jaya Nagar. He was on his way home from Lekhapani when the incident occurred.

All five injured individuals, including Prabhat Gogoi, were initially taken to Margherita Civil Hospital. However, due to the severity of their conditions, they were subsequently referred to Dibrugarh for advanced medical treatment. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident, and further details are awaited.
