            <div class="clearfix text-formatted field field--name-body field--type-text-with-summary field--label-hidden field__item"><p>As Assam continues to reel from extreme floods, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma visited and inspected the areas affected by waterlogging amid incessant rainfall, stating that the situation has improved. <br>

<p>Speaking to reporters, the chief minister said that the flood situation in Assam has improved and the water has resided considerably. <br>
 </p>

<p>Furthermore, the Assam CM said that people are facing issues, particularly at places where there has been a breach of the embedment, ensuring that he is trying to help them.  <br>
 </p>

<p>Meanwhile, in Dibrugarh where there is no electricity for 5-6 days, CM Sarma said that the power has been cut off deliberately for the safety of people. He added, “The power can be restored in 2 minutes, but it has been cut off as there is water everywhere.” <br>
 </p>

<p>The Assam chief mister also informed that drains in Dibrugarh are clogged because there is encroachment and they are not being cleaned as the equipment cannot enter. <br>
 </p>

<p>Further informing that tons of garbage has been accumulated on the drains, Himanta said that discussions to assess the situation is underway. “We will discuss how we can clean it with smaller equipment. Eviction is not appropriate during floods. We will see what to do after the water resides,” the CM also said.</p>
