Assam: Inebriated youths terrorize people on Guwahati's GS road, attack passersby

A group of intoxicated young individuals caused havoc on GS Road, Guwahati, brandishing rods, bamboos, and wooden sticks on Saturday night.

The shocking incident took place near Pancham Tower, with the group attacking several passersby without any apparent provocation.

One of the victims recounted their ordeal to the press, stating that they were assaulted without any reason while returning from a concert of Bollywood singer Arijit Singh at Barsapara. The gang was armed with rods, wooden sticks, and bamboos.

Police arrived at the scene following reports of unidentified miscreants fleeing the area. It is speculated that these individuals received a tip-off about the police's arrival.

Local residents have claimed that the Pancham Tower premises have been a hub for anti-social activities. However, no concrete evidence has surfaced to substantiate these allegations.
