Assam: Karimganj traffic police bravely performs duty despite scorching temperatures

As heatwave engulfs the entire state of Assam, the commitment of Karimganj's traffic police stands unwavering. Despite soaring temperatures that reached 38 degrees Celsius today, the traffic officers continue to perform their duties diligently.

Every traffic point in the city is manned by police officers enduring the intense heat. Major highways, usually bustling with activity, now lie nearly deserted as the city grapples with the scorching weather.

In brief moments of respite, officers seek relief at roadside cold drink stalls, quenching their thirst and taking brief rests under the shade of trees by the Kushiyara River. Some are seen wrapping their bodies in wet cloths to cool down, while even the local cows seek shelter and hydration, drinking from water taps to escape the relentless heat.
