Assam: Lakhimpur DC suspends school headmistress, orders to stay at home for poor management skills

The District Commissioner of Lakhimpur paid a surprise visit to the Bassagaon Higher Secondary School on June 11 and was appalled after seeing the condition of the educational institution.

Shocked at the poor infrastructure, major mismanagement in school funds and filthy condition of the school, district commissioner Sumit Chattavan suspended the headmistress identified as Dipti Bora.

Angered after seeing the poor condition of the school, the district commissioner ordered the headmistress, “No need to come to school from tomorrow onwards. If you come, the school will fall into deeper crisis. You better take rest at home”.

Apart from inspecting the school premises, the district commissioner even took a closer look at the way the students were being taught and the kind of education being imparted to the handful of students who were sitting at their respective desks.
