A disturbing case of animal cruelty has surfaced in Bajali district, where a cow was allegedly severed in retaliation for grazing on farmland.
The incident reportedly occurred in Titka village, where a cow belonging to a local woman, Jutika Haloi, strayed into the agricultural field of one Biren Talukdar and grazed on the crops. Following the incident, Talukdar allegedly demanded Rs 10,000 as compensation for the damage caused.
When the compensation was not paid within the stipulated time, Talukdar allegedly took matters into his own hands and, in a shocking act of cruelty, cut off the ear of the cow.
The incident has triggered widespread outrage in the local community, with animal rights activists and villagers condemning the inhumane treatment. Authorities have yet to confirm whether formal legal action has been taken in connection with the incident.
Sources claim that further investigation is underway to ascertain the full details and determine the next course of action.
