Assam: Man trampled to death by wild elephants in Nagaon-Karbi Anglong border

In an unfortunate incident, a man was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants on September 28 along Nagaon-Karbi Anglong border.

The region has been witnessing increased cases of wild elephant attacks in the recent times with the jumbos moving out of their habitats in search of food.

Notably, the recent incident took place in a remote area of Puli Bagan. The deceased person who was killed in the man-elephant conflict has been identified as Maniram Khaklari.

Sensation continues to prevail in the region as locals suspect that there is a herd of wild elephants still loitering around the area.

Meanwhile, forest staff have reached the spot to keep the elephants away from the human dwellings.
