Assam: Mastermind behind major loan fraud scheme arrested in Guwahati's Paltan Bazar

In a significant breakthrough, Karimganj police apprehended Hemant Kumar Gogoi, the alleged mastermind behind a large-scale financial fraud operation. 

The arrest was made in the Paltanbazar area of Guwahati on September 9. Gogoi is accused of running several money marketing company, which is at the center of a fraudulent scheme that swindled thousands of victims.

On September 3, Karimganj police launched a raid on the Singhaniya Fintech Acquisition Company, located on Sharisha Road, Karimganj. During the operation, multiple incriminating documents were seized, leading to the arrest of Rahul Roy, who managed the office.

The fraudulent company reportedly collected Rs 2,000 each from approximately 2,000 individuals under the false promise of providing loans. Following the raid, police investigations led to the arrest of Hemant Kumar Gogoi in Guwahati. Additionally, authorities revealed that Gogoi has five pending cases against him in Meghalaya, further escalating the seriousness of the charges. The investigation is ongoing as police work to uncover the full extent of the financial scam.
