A 13-year-old boy, housed in an observation home in Bongaon, Boko, tragically passed away on Tuesday, November 19 under mysterious circumstances. The deceased hailed from Sijubari Natbama in Dispur.
The minor, admitted to the observation home on November 8 by Paltan Bazar Police, was allegedly involved in theft under the influence of drugs. Reports also suggest injuries were visible on one of his hands.
On November 18, after falling ill, the boy was briefly admitted to the Guwahati Medical College and Hospital (GMCH) but was returned to the observation home the same night. On November 19, the deceased's father visited him to inquire about his condition. Shockingly, the child died just moments after the father left.
Medical officials at Bamunigaon Model Hospital declared the boy dead on arrival. Authorities are probing the cause of death, with Boko Police arriving at the observation home to investigate further.
