Assam: Mysterious death of wild elephant in Rajapara sparks concerns among residents

A wild elephant was discovered dead in Rajapara Muhipara, within the Bandapara Forest Range, prompting an investigation by forest officials. 

While the exact cause of death remains undetermined, preliminary findings suggest electrocution as a possible reason. 

A herd of wild elephants was reportedly seen nearby, raising concerns among villagers about the safety of wildlife in the area. 

Local residents allege that inadequate fencing and safety measures contributed to the tragedy, urging the Forest Department to conduct a comprehensive inquiry. 

Officials confirmed that the definitive cause of death will be established following a detailed post-mortem examination.
