Assam: Nagaon District Day to be celebrated on March 27

The Nagaon District Administration is all set to celebrate ''Nagaon District Day'' on March 27, said District Collector Narendra Kumar Shah. 

Nagaon district will turn 190 on March 27 this year on March 27, 1833, it became a full-fledged district and presently it is considered an important district of central Assam. 

Prior to the celebration, the District Collector held a press conference at the Nagaon District Collector's office and informed about the celebration of Nagaon District Day. 

''We will celebrate for the first time in Nagaon district day, but what will it look like after 10 years we are preparing that also. The district will gradually be developed. The district was established on March 27, 1833. We are not going to celebrate it in a glamorous way. We will celebrate it in a simple way,'' Shah said. 
 
The district collector further informed that a cultural procession will be taken out from Nagaon Police Cantonment on the morning of March 27. 

''Nagaon district day will be celebrated with a day-long programme,'' he added. 

He further said that the district administration has also organized a discussion on the past, present, and future of Nagaon district and additionally the district administration has also arranged a documentary about Nagaon district.
