Assam: Nalbari businessman looted after intoxication

A businessman from Nalbari, identified as Ritu Barman, fell victim to a cunning robbery after being tactfully intoxicated.

Ritu Barman, a resident of Kaplabari in Mukalmuwa, Nalbari, was returning to his home from Arunachal Pradesh when the episode unfolded. Along his journey, he encountered two individuals who seemingly offered him a ride.

Near the Amingaon area, Barman was invited to have tea with his companions. After partaking in the tea, he began to lose consciousness rapidly.

For a significant period, Barman remained out of contact with his family members. Barman's disoriented body was discovered near the Sutarkuchi bridge, still under the influence of the intoxicating substance.

Soon after his family members realized that a substantial sum of money had been stolen along with his four-wheeler vehicle.

Barman was rushed to the hospital for medical attention upon his discovery. Simultaneously, a formal complaint was lodged at the Belsor Police Station.
