Assam: New political party focusing on Koch Rajbongshi community formed in Bongaigaon

A new regional political party focusing on the Koch Rajbongshi community has been formed in Assam's Bongaigaon. In a formal ceremony, the all new Kamatapur People's Front (KPF) was launched today in Bongaigaon.

The party, which is primarily focusing on the needs of the Koch Rajbongshi community of Assam, is planning to contest the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The party's working president Biswajit Ray stated that the party would be contesting in the Lok Sabha elections and also the next assembly elections in Assam. 

"We have decided that we will be fielding candidates in 28 state assembly seats and four Lok Sabha seats in the future. Since Lok Sabha polls are coming near, we have zeroed in on four constituencies where he will field our candidates and give an identity to our new party among the people. And we will be actively participating in the future elections as well," said Ray. 

Ray also said that the along with the Koch Rajbongshi community, the KPF would also focus on the development of other indigenous communities in the state.
