In a significant operation linked to the ongoing online trading scam in Assam, the Guwahati Crime Branch along with Geeta Nagar and Margherita Police, arrested a young man named Rishiraj Gogoi during a raid at a house in Makum Pathar. Authorities seized a substantial amount of gold, including biscuits and ornaments, along with several iPhones and approximately Rs 30 lakh in cash. A collection of objectionable documents was also confiscated, indicating deeper implications regarding the trading activities.
As the investigation unfolds, the police are continuing their mission to uncover the full extent of the operation. However, both the investigative team and Gogoi have remained tight-lipped giving no comments to the media.
Priyanshu Gogoi, the son of the house owner, attempted to obstruct journalists from reporting on the incident. Witnesses reported that he threatened to damage their mobile phones and cameras, leading to a chaotic scene. Despite the initial turmoil, the situation was defused after Priyanshu issued an apology to the journalists.
