Assam: Palestine supporter in Dhubri detained for circulating 'Free Palestine' message

A supporter of Palestine from Dhubri has been detained for spreading a 'Free Palestine' message on November 29.

The detained person has been identified as Hasif Zaman, resident of Chapar which falls under Dhubri district. 

A Palestine flag was pasted in the front glass of his (Maruti Alto) vehicle with the text "Free Palestine".

In broad daylight, the police spotted Zaman and the car in the Dhubri Municipal area, where it was parked close to the Dhubri GST Bhawan office.

Speaking to the media, one of the locals said, "We saw this vehicle with the message "Free Palestine" written on it...it is shameful that some people are trying to disturb the peace in Assam with such acts."

Officials said they are questioning Zaman to get more information, and they will decide how to proceed with the case in accordance with protocol.
