Three CRPF personnel were killed and 14 others injured during a gun battle with Maoists in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Tuesday, January 30. Among the martyred personnel was Assam's Lambadhar Singha who hailed from Kakaragaon in Chirang under Bongaigaon district.
After receiving this news last night, a pall of gloom descended on Kakaragaon Bhatipara village of martyred jawan Lambadhar Singh.
Among the injured, one Gopinath Basumatary, also from Assam received a splinter injury and is udergoing treatment at a hospital.
As per sources, a team from the 201 battalion of the CoBRA and 150 battalion of the CRPF was working in the area to establish a Forward Operating Base (FOB) along the border of Bijapur and Sukma districts in Chhattisgarh when the exchange of fire began around 1 pm on January 30.
