Assam: Panic grips Dibrugarh after locals find head of a new born baby

Panic gripped Dibrugarh’s Sasanpara PWD colony on January 16, morning, after a passerby found the head of a newborn baby.

The passerby who was passing through the locality at around 6 am immediately alerted the locals and checked for CCTV cameras installed nearby to ascertain from where the head arrived at the spot.

Assuming to be the head of a girl, the CCTV footage showed a street dog bringing the head inside the locality.
Locals alerted the police who later reached the spot to recover the head.

"I saw people moving around the area and gathering around the spot. Seeing the commotion I came down and found people staring at the head of a new born baby. I immediately informed the police about it. Don't know the gender the child. Maybe the baby is around 1 week old or maybe a month", said a local while speaking to the media who informed the police about the incident.

Search on to find the remaining part of the body. Meanwhile an investigation has been initiated to trace the parents of the deceased baby.

In another shocking incident family members of Jutika Basumatary, who died at GNRC hospital , Guwahati were surprised when they saw someone else’s body in their courtyard. The incident took place at Bhakatpara in Mangadai in Darrang district. 

According to reports the body was brought from the GNRC morgue in Guwahati's Amingaon.

While speaking to GNRC officials , they said that the family members denied to have a last look at the dead body and that’s where the mistake happened. However they said the authorities have initiated  an inquiry into matter and necessary actions will be taken against the person who committed the mistake.

The officials further informed that the dead body of Jutika Basumatary have been sent along with the family members. 
Jutika Basumatary, wife of Mahiram Basumatary of Bhakatpara, passed away at Amingaon GNRC Hospital in Guwahati at 11 pm on December 17. When they brought the body to home after fetching it from the hospital they were shocked and astonished to find the body of an unknown man.
