Assam: Police make significant narcotics bust in Dhubri, one arrested

In a major crackdown on narcotics trafficking, Dhubri Police successfully intercepted a scooter in the Bidyapara more area on December 21 resulting in the arrest of Anowar Sikdar, S/o Chand Mia Sikdar, a resident of Bidyapara Station Road area in Dhubri Town.

The arrest unfolded as part of a targeted operation when vigilant police officers stopped the scooter bearing Registration No: AS17H 0943. Upon thorough inspection, police found two soap boxes concealed within the vehicle, both filled with a substance suspected to be brown sugar.

The Dhubri Police not only apprehended Anowar Sikdar but also seized both the scooter and the contraband. 

Anowar Sikdar now faces the full legal consequences of his alleged involvement in the narcotics trade. The police registered a case against him and he is expected to be presented before the court to answer charges related to drug possession and trafficking.

Following the arrest, Sikdar underwent extensive interrogation to extract more information about the origin of the seized substance and its intended destination.
