A late-night confrontation on Titabar highway has raised serious concerns about law enforcement conduct, as a police personnel clashed with traffic officers and also assaulted a student leader. The incident unfolded when 4 Assam Police personnel engaged in reckless behavior, performing bike stunts and causing a disturbance on the highway.
The situation escalated when traffic police, stationed at Naka Talasi, attempted to intervene and stop the loud and disruptive motorbikes. The confrontation quickly turned violent as the four police officers fiercely resisted the traffic police’s efforts. In the midst of the chaos, a student leader associated with the All Assam Students' Union (AASU), who tried to control the situation, was brutally beaten by the officers.

In the aftermath, two of the involved officers fled the scene, but Titabar police managed to arrest the other two, identified as Krishna Basumatary and Kalyan Jyoti Badia, during an overnight operation. The two remaining officers are being sought for questioning as the investigation continues.
The incident has sent shockwaves through Titabar with local organizations, including AASU, demanding strict and immediate action against the officers involved.
