In a recent crackdown on smuggled vehicles the Kalapani police conducted a successful raid near Jangal resulting in the seizure of five illicit bikes including four-wheelers. The operation carried out at a five-star second-hand showroom was aimed at curbing illegal activities in the area.
During the operation two smugglers were apprehended by the authorities, identified as Hasibul Islam and Rakibul Islam. The raid yielded a total of nine smuggled vehicles, indicating the scale of the illegal enterprise being run by the arrested individuals.
For quite some time, the two brothers, Hasibul Islam and Rakibul Islam, had been operating a seemingly legitimate second-hand vehicle business from their residence in Jangal within the Kalapani police station jurisdiction. However, the recent police action has exposed their involvement in smuggling activities.
Currently, the detained brothers are undergoing interrogation by law enforcement officials. The authorities are diligently probing the extent of their involvement in the illicit trade and seeking to dismantle any associated networks.
