The town of Dhubri observed Pran Pratistha Divas on Thursday, commemorating the grand inauguration of the Sri Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The highlight of the celebration was the Holy Kalash Yatra, where hundreds of men and women participated in a procession that traversed the entire town.
To commence the sacred Kalash Yatra, devotees and distinguished individuals gathered holy water from the Mahabahu Brahmaputra river at Dhubri Netai Dhubani Ghat. According to Prabir Barua, the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sangh Chalak in the Dhubri district, collecting 'Pani Tola' or holy water is a customary practice to initiate significant celebrations in cultural and religious traditions.
The primary purpose of the Kalash Yatra was to collect water, symbolizing devotion and purity, from the holy Brahmaputra river. A total of 150 earthen pitchers (Kalash) were filled with the sacred water, forming the centerpiece of a procession that began in Paulpara and weaved through the entire town. The rally not only showcased unity and devotion but also marked a collective celebration of the consecration of Shri Ram Lala in Ayodhya.
Dr. Dipendra Nath Adhikary, Sangh Vibhag Chalak, announced that on January 22, coinciding with the inauguration of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, a religious ritual known as 'Yogya' will be performed at Nandlal Bhawan premises of RSS in Dhubri.
