Assam: Protests break out over the murder of nine-year-old in Goalpara’s Dhupdhara

The horrific incident of a nine-year-old student’s murder has gripped Goalpara’s Dhupdhara town.

The locals gathered at the Dhupdhara Police Station and protested for the justice of the victim. They demanded the execution of the accused, Haidul Ali.

Haidul Ali is accused of murdering Shahidul Ali, the nine-year-old son of Tamiz Ali. The body was recovered on the banks of a river near the paddy fields.

Following this, the family on Monday lodged an FIR against Haidel Ali, son of Kumad Ali, from the same village, at Dhupdhara police station.

Shortly after the FIR was lodged, the police in charge of Dhupdhara police station immediately launched an investigation and managed to nab the killers from Dhupdhara weekly market.

After the arrest of the killers, hundreds of men and women from the village came to Dhupdhara police station and demanded that the killers be hanged.

The people have been agitating at the Dhupdhara police station demanding the strictest punishment for the arrested Haidel Ali.

People demanded that the killers should not escape at any cost through the law.

It is to be noted that the alleged killer is the maternal uncle of the deceased child.
