Assam Railway Police seizes heroin in Bongaigaon, Bihar man arrested in anti-drug operation

Continuing its operation against drug trafficking, the Assam Railway Police conducted a raid at New Bongaigaon railway station in Bongaigaon district on August 13. 

 

During the operation, a man identified as Robin Chaudhary, hailing from Bihar, was arrested. The raid took place on the Rajendra Nagar Terminal Weekly Express Train, where authorities discovered and seized 72 grams of suspected heroin.

 

The illegal substance was concealed in six soap cases. The arrested individual, Robin Chaudhary, is now in custody, and further investigations are underway to trace the origins and intended destination of the narcotics.

Earlier, a West Guwahati Police Department operation resulted in the arrest of a suspected drug peddler and the seizure of various illegal substances from a hardware store.

 

Officers from the Fatasil Ambari Police Station conducted the raid, recovering heroin, cannabis, and prescription drugs along with cash and a mobile phone.

 

Hangsharaj Das, 39, of Nijaraban Path, was taken into custody during the operation. Police confiscated 10 vials of suspected heroin weighing 13.40 grams, 50 tablets of Nitcor, and 24 grams of cannabis.
