Assam: School students, state minister join hands to help flood victims in Kaliabor

In a heartwarming gesture of solidarity and compassion, Transport Minister Keshav Mahanta has donated Rs 11,000 to assist the flood victims in Assam. The donation comes in response to the devastating floods that have affected numerous families in the region, leaving them in dire need of support and resources.

Adding to the minister’s generosity, five conscientious Class 10 students from Kaliabor Jakhalabandha have shown remarkable empathy and initiative by collecting and donating funds for the flood victims. The group, comprising Aayush Chauhan, Anjum, Farhan Sheikh, Satish Prasad, and Srijan Newar, demonstrated exceptional community spirit and leadership in their efforts to provide relief to those affected by the natural disaster.

These exemplary students, moved by the plight of the flood-stricken families, organized a fundraising campaign within their community. Through their dedicated efforts, they managed to gather a significant amount, which they decided to channel through Minister Keshav Mahanta to ensure it reached those in need effectively.

The combined donation from Minister Mahanta and the idealistic students underscores the importance of unity and collective action in times of crisis. Speaking on the occasion, Minister Mahanta praised the students for their noble initiative and highlighted the critical role of youth in shaping a compassionate and responsive society.

“These young students have set an inspiring example for all of us. Their selflessness and determination to help those in need is truly commendable. It is through such acts of kindness and solidarity that we can overcome any challenge,” said Minister Mahanta.
