Assam: SSB seizes illegal wooden logs in Chirang

The Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) successfully intercepted a vehicle transporting illegal wooden logs in Balla Moguri, Chirang. The vehicle, bearing the registration number AS 15 AC 0313, was apprehended near Dangsiapara while en route to Bijni.

Under the leadership of PARTY COMMANDER B.D. Chakraborty of the F Company, the SSB acted on a tip-off and conducted the operation, resulting in the seizure of valuable Gomari tree logs. Notably, the vehicle lacked any documentation to substantiate the legality of the timber being transported.

Following the seizure, the SSB transferred custody of the vehicle to the Bijni Forest Department for further investigation. The driver, 22-year-old Shanuwar Husein from Majrabari village, along with 38-year-old handyman Meher Uddin, were detained during the operation and subsequently handed over to the Forest Department for necessary legal action.
