Tea garden workers in Sonari staged a protest on [date] to press for a set of 11 demands, including an increase in their daily wages and the allocation of land rights for workers residing in tea estates.
The demonstration was organized in response to a call from the Sonari branch of the Assam Chah Mazdoor Sangha (ACMS). Workers from various tea gardens under the branch participated in a one-hour protest, starting at 7 AM.
The protest took place in front of the respective offices of each tea estate, with workers voicing their demands for better wages and improved living conditions.
The agitation highlighted the ongoing concerns of tea plantation workers, who have long been advocating for fair wages and land security. The protestors urged the authorities to address their grievances promptly.
