Assam: Tea workers stage protest at Fatemabad Tea Estate in Baksa, demand unpaid dues

Tea workers at the Fatemabad tea estate in Baksa took to the streets in protest, highlighting their prolonged struggle against unpaid wages. The agitated workers, numbering in the dozens, converged in front of the Barbari police station, venting their grievances against the estate owner, Rajesh Jalan.

The protest, which has been ongoing for several days displays mounting frustration among laborers who claim they have not received their rightful earnings for a month. Rajesh Jalan, the proprietor of the garden, faced the brunt of the workers' ire as they accused him of neglecting their demands and failing to address their concerns.

Amidst a cacophony of slogans denouncing Jalan's alleged indifference, the workers voiced their desperation stating their struggle to sustain their families without the wages owed to them. Despite the persistent demonstrations, both Jalan and local authorities have been accused of turning a blind eye to the plight of the laborers.
